September 17, 1930November 20, 2023 Alberta De La Rosa Sandate, of Alpine, peacefully joined the Lord on Monday, November 20, in Del Rio. She was 93 years old.

Originally from San Carlos, Coahuila, MX, Alberta later moved to Del Rio, where she met the late Minerva Uranga. Shortly thereafter, Minerva introduced her to Alpine, where she met her beloved late husband Antonio Sandate, with whom she had three children: Martin, Irma, and Rose Mary.

Alberta worked at Gallegos Restaurant where she was known for her exceptional and delicious culinary skills. Her chile rellenos, enchiladas, menudo, and her famous tamales were cherished by many. In her later years, she found joy in cooking, making tortillas, listening to mariachis, and spending time with her family and friends.

Alberta is preceded in death by her father, Juan De La Rosa, mother, Maria Perez, her husband, Antonio Sandate and her daughter, Irma Perez. She is survived by her son, Martin Sandate, and his wife Elvia, and her daughter Rose Mary Villareal, and her husband Mark.

Additionally, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Martin (Boy) Sandate and wife Laura, Marisa Perez and husband Daniel, Selena Sandate, David Sandate, Analisa Sandate, and Marky Villareal. Her great-grandchildren Yaniss, Victoria, Andie, and John David will also cherish her memory. Alberta is also survived by her brothers Victor De La Rosa and his family, Valentin De La Rosa and his wife Minga, and her sister Patricia Garza and her family. She was also deeply loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in her heart.

The pallbearers for Alberta’s funeral service were Martin (Boy) Sandate, David Sandate, Mark Villareal, Marky Villareal, Michael Reves, and Eugene Lujan.

Services were held on Friday, November 24, beginning with a viewing that morning, followed by a Rosary and Christian Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment followed at Holy Angels Cemetery.

In this time of deep grief, let us remember that where there is great love, there will always be a lasting legacy.
