Thomas R. “Tommy” Lackey, 84 of Lakehills, Texas died on March 8.

Tommy was born in Medina in 1939 to M.F. and Teresa Lackey.

He retired in 1990 from a lifelong career with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was an active member of the Alpine Masonic Lodge #766 and had served as Worshipful Master. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion while living in Alpine.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Lackey, sister Ruby O’Neill and her husband Jack O’Neill, brother-in-law Lewis Edwards, niece Faye Walsh, and nephew Randy O’Neal.

He is survived by his loving wife Beth Lackey, son Ron Lackey, sister Dorothy Edwards, sisterin law Kaye Taylor, and her husband Larry, his aunt Nancy Cunningham, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a graveside service in Del Rio at a future date.
