The Alpine Lady Bucks 12U softball team traveled to Mansfield to play at the Big League Dreams Super Regionals 12U tournament on March 27-28 to kick off their 2021 season. The Lady Bucks carried a roster of nine athletes from Alpine and Marfa.

They played four pool games on Saturday, and bracket play began Sunday morning. The Super Regionals tournament is a single elimination bracket, and the Lady Bucks played three bracket games before being knocked out by the Excel Elite NTX ‘08, a franchise team out of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Forty 12U teams competed at the Super Regionals, a national qualifier event, and the Lady Bucks ended the weekend in the top 10. The top eight teams earned a spot at the national tournament in Florida.

This Lady Bucks team represented Alpine with class and dignity, earn ing praise from umpires, coaches, and parents. They played hard, and hung with elite franchise teams from San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, Frisco, and more.

Each field at the Big League Dreams complex is modeled after a different ballpark or stadium, such as Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, Crosley Field, and Sportsman’s Park. The Lady Bucks played at Yankee Stadium and Crosley Field.
