Masks, please

Body
It’s been many years since my last letter of public appeal through the Avalanche. If wearing a mask might help one child stay healthy, isn’t that enough incentive for the school board to put it on an agenda, discuss it, and vote?

A box of chocolates

Body
If someone gets struck by lightning, tests positive for COVID, and is bitten by a rattlesnake at the same time, what is the cause of death? What is the result of vaccination? Child of 12: “Lightning because it’s quicker;” “Food reward.” Rattlesnake handler: “Lack of faith;” “Hellfire.” Centers for Disease Control: “Lightning-enhanced and venom-enhanced COVID” “Compliance.” Individuality, a valued human characteristic protected by the U.S. Constitution, allows perceptions as wide apart as those of the child and the snake handler.

Do more, say less

Body
I am a big Alabama football fan. I have to admit, therefore, my bias concerning the head football coach, Nick Saban, for I believe he is a phenomenal coach. Though crusty and notoriously exacting, he understands the importance of doing rather than saying something. He is obsessed with the importance of action over words. One of his more successful players was asked what his favorite Saban quote was.

SRSU trees, please

I became a licensed tree expert by examination in Illinois in 1975, and a certified arborist in California in 1999. My experience is vast, beginning in Atlanta, Ga., in 1973 and working in 20 states and five Canadian provinces, retiring last year.

Informed consent

Body
With the recommendation to inject children, the promise of booster shoots for adults, and enormous social pressure to be injected, it is time to demand what is ours by law, informed consent. Here are some minimum conditions of informed consent.
